2. Reference of LSSR Interrogation Department on the review of the material of the implemented prevention measures.

In this reference, a report is presented by the KGB Interrogation Department on the prevention of conversations and inspection of operational documents, conducted in 1979 – 1987. Notes about the specificities of preventive work, shortcomings and requirements, which arose due the change of political circumstances and the Criminal Code, are provided. Recommendations are also given of how to carry out effectively the preventive work under the existing circumstances. Preventive measures shall be applied in accordance with the laws; they should be politically and legally grounded, respecting constitutional and other rights of citizens.

3. Letter of LSSR KGB Chairman to KGB city and regional departments on the propaganda measures, directed for discrediting of the former partisans and the armed postwar fights.

Attention in this document is focused on the rehabilitation of the participants of armed resistance, carried out by various organizations, and dissemination of the truth of “different type” about the armed fight. It is observed that former partisans joined the Revival Movement. Seeking to present their own version and to carry out the counter-propagation actions, KGB subdivisions are obligated to collect material from veteran chekists, “stribai” (armed collaborators) and party activists about postwar events and the supposed crimes of partisans against local residents.
